Mary

Mary is an ex crack addict who lost her daughter into adoption/foster care years ago. She is still a chronic alcoholic and smoker with emphysema and diabetes. A runaway ward of the state. She has been labeled with diagnosis such as schizophrenic, schitzo-effective, and dementia. I think the dementia just came into play when they put her on so many pills that she fell asleep still eating a sandwich, only to wake up and have to swallow a bite she had left in her mouth. When she is not drinking mary is impatient and moody/bored but she is excited about life and creativity (she likes arts and crafts when she is at "the place" as she calls where she is committed). She just has been an alcoholic and drug addict so long that she knows no other way to pass her time, she gets too bored when she can remember what she is doing during the day I guess and her traumas from childhood and the loss of her own child play into that in some ways also.

This is my Aunt Mary. Maybe someday I can take a better photograph of you, when you find your true way towards happiness.
